Survey Party Chief

Responsibilities:

  • Use and obtain historical data from property/utility records, deeds, land/property titles, structural plans, and other matrices for land surveying activities
  • Operate and maintain robotic instrument, total stations, data collector, GPS equipment
  • Must be proficient with electronic data collection systems and processes; must be able to download, on occasions may need to perform complex survey computations using various software programs (i.e., Trimble Business Center & Autocad/Civil3D)
  • Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned survey field crew on quality and survey methodology, including training and mentoring of junior level employees.
  • Thoroughly inspect and check deliverables, including field note sheets, electronic data collection files, and computation sheets for accuracy and correctness

Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Control networks, boundary, topographic, construction, and As-Built surveying
  • 3-5 years managing a field crew; and experience with Atlas, Boundaries, Construction Staking and Topographic Surveys
  • Must be able to operate all survey equipment proficiently including but not limited to: Robotic Total stations, GSP equipment, levels along with basic computer operating skills
  • Must have good driver’s record and a valid driver’s license
