Construction Field Assistant

The Poulos & Bennett Development Services Team delivers construction management and development coordination to projects through effective and proactive communication, problem-solving and attention to detail.

This position is a vital role in providing professional services to our clients while working within a supportive department with a team mentality.  This role will also include working alongside the engineering teams while reviewing, maintaining and monitoring task lists and schedules to provide a seamless transition from design and permitting to construction and close out.  This position includes both field work and office work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the design teams
  • Permitting
  • Review plans for constructability review and offer effective feedback
  • Material quantity takeoffs
  • Cost opinions
  • Prepare bid package and solicit contractors for proposals
  • Review bids for completeness
  • Establish budgets and schedules
  • Coordinate with municipal staff
  • Coordinate with the company’s clients and meet expectations
  • Coordinate with contractors
  • Work with local municipalities and jurisdictions for meetings and inspections
  • Review payment applications for accuracy
  • Management of data and information
  • Use of personal vehicle to make site visits
  • Use of personal phone for communication
  • Research data for design teams
  • Prepare letters, transmittal forms, memos, etc.
  • Coordinate the closeout procedures with local municipalities and jurisdictions

Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook
  • MS Project a plus
  • Highly organized
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to implement quality control
  • Must work well in team environment as well as a self-starter
  • Must be solution oriented
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License and reliable vehicle

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • College courses, certifications, degree a plus
